It's the Christmas season around here! And everywhere else, I guess! This seems like the first year that Miles is really appreciating a lot of the exciting things about Christmas. It's his first real Christmas tree (the last couple years, we've had a small plastic one) and he loves it. He'll stand there and look at the ornaments for long periods, with intermittent reminders not to pull on them or throw things into the tree. We got an advent calendar full of little ornaments and he gets excited about opening another little door. Wait until he finds out about presents!
His language and cognition really seems to be taking another big leap forward as well. He's mostly speaking in full, if not perfectly grammatically correct sentences. He's starting to grapple with abstract concepts as well. When he ripped a page out of a library book, and I told him that the library would be mad at us, he informed me that, in fact, "the library not have a mouth". Good point, Miles.
We spent much of the month passing a persistent cold between the three of us. Miles stood up to it pretty well, although he would occasionally desperately yell "Wipe my nose!" at us. Also, he learned the word "boogers", and it's one of his new favorites!
