Five months old

Will is doing a lot of cool stuff this month. He's rolling both ways. He's sitting unassisted for a number of seconds. He's trying to figure out how to scoot toward things but is mostly getting no where. He definitely can't be left on beds unattended. He's gotten up into the crawl position a few times. He giggles a bunch. He is starting to tolerate the car (and has stopped torturing us with his incessant screaming in his car seat).

At his last pediatric visit on September 17th, Will was 17lbs 14oz (84th percentile). He's 26.75 inches long (93rd percentile). We've started giving him little bits of food. Not a large amount, just tastes of our food, some cheerios and baby crackers, and some mashed fruit. This kid loves to eat.

Miles is enjoying school. He's made a bunch of friends and seems to enjoy the activities in class. His favorite part is art. He comes home with fun songs and dances. He also has picked up a few phrases that we hadn't heard before school started. He's having some difficulty listening in school so we moved his bedtime up so that he's going to be a 1/2 hour earlier. Our hope is that he sleeps longer and then can maintain a better attitude in school. We'll see.

Here's the month in photos and videos:

Family limerick time

Colleen:
There once was a baby named Will
With breastmilk was his belly filled
Oh what a sight
He drank through the night
But nary a drop did he spill

Lucas:
There once was a boy named Miles
Who messed with my amplifier dials
I got to the show
And wouldn't you know
The music came out the wrong style

Miles:
There once was a man named Lucas
He had to blow his nose a lot
He went upstairs to find a hat to put on his head...

Four Months Old

This month Miles started school. He started in the pre kindergarten class at our local elementary school. He gets to walk to school every morning with his backpack (which he wears on his front)! He comes home with new songs and dances. He has drawings and homework and new friends.

Will is a mover. He's wiggling all over the place, rolling over, pushing his butt up in the air. He giggles, babbles, and smiles freely. We love having him in our lives.

We got to travel as a family to Massachusetts and take part in my sister Amy's wedding. It was a most beautiful affair. Miles had a ton of fun even if he wore a scowl for some of the day.

I'm back to work and loving it. I feel good being back. I don't have such a terrible relationship with pumping this time around.  Things are good!

Here are the pictures and video from the last month:
