Five Months: World Traveler

Okay, maybe he's not a world traveler as we only went to Atlanta.  But still, we flew in a plane... with a baby!  A baby!  It's virtually unheard of (except for all those cliches about babies on planes).  Miles did pretty well on the flight down there.  It was in the early morning and he promptly fell asleep after take off.  The flight back was in the early evening and luckily it was a nearly empty flight because the little man was much fussier.  We were able to keep him entertained by switching seats, pacing the aisle, laying him down between us, and offering toys.

Miles is starting to get on his hands and knees so crawling is not far off.  We didn't capture any hands and knees poses this week so we'll be sure to get some for next week.  He has become very grabby recently, a new skill I'm not entirely fond of.  It makes eating out, something we did a lot of during our stay in Atlanta, much more complicated.

This week was a big week in a lot of ways.  Miles experienced his first hurricane, although it was a bit mild for us here in Maryland.  It was most distressing for Miles because he couldn't go outside for a walk.

Simulated hurricane - Lucas blowing in his face!

Halloween also happened this week.  Lucas and I aren't into Halloween generally but who can resist dressing up a baby?  I certainly can't.  I made his costume.  I got the idea off the internet.

Then it was off to Atlanta, where I attended a conference on contraception and the boys attended the Atlanta Aquarium.  Atlanta was a mixed bag.  Nice parks with beautiful fountains and crack heads using the baby to impinge on our personal space.  Beautiful Aquarium and food poisoning.  At least we only have pictures of the good parts, right?

The week in review, Miles style:

We went to a NY style deli last weekend and I had a delicious bagel

Packing for Atlanta!

We're leaving town for a few days? Oh my!

Hello!

I don't think this is the best way to travel. Let me out!

Reading books

Where's my sock? No one cares about me.

Reading, reading.

Hotel bed!
Hotel beds are REALLY funny!
ATL - one of the many fountains we saw

Good ol' southern food - BBQ pulled chicken and fried chicken gizzards.

Centennial Olympic Park - Five Rings Fountain.

And for the grand finale this week, a video of Miles laughing.  Please excuse my fake laughing in this video - it's a little much.
