We had a real eventful early fall! At the end of September, we took a trip to Hershey Park with Granny, Gramps, Schuyler and Milena. It was so fun we forgot to take any pictures! So, you'll just have to believe me. The neat thing about Hershey Park was that they had really liberal rules about what a two-year old was allowed to ride on. Log flumes, the scrambler, this spaceship ride that went around really fast and you controlled its height with a control stick. There was even one ride that spun around 30 feet in the air, turning almost sideways, and he was still able to go on it. So we had a blast.
We also spent a weekend in a cabin in the woods in West Virginia with our friends Mike, Julie and Frankie. We took some hikes, built fires, went to an apple butter festival and enjoyed each other's company, especially how Miles and Frankie kept each other (mostly) entertained. On the way home we visited the Paw Paw Tunnel, despite the best efforts of our GPS to keep us away. Following its directions down windy West Virginian mountain roads, we found ourself on a muddy one lane path in the deep woods, with no signs of civilization in sight. I turned to Colleen and said, "It says to look for parking." We couldn't find any parking. We managed to navigate ourselves back to the town of Paw Paw and find the tunnel from there, and it was really fun. It's a half mile walk into near-total darkness. Miles loved yelling "echo" and the shadow puppets we made with our iPhone flashlights.
Anyway, here are some fun pictures of our month!
